Yes. Moringa can grow in most all parts of the USA during the warm summer months. In colder climates it is often grown as an annual, replanting several moringa trees in a small space every spring and summer. It may never get to full size or produce drumsticks, but you'll be able to harvest fresh moringa greens all summer long.
Yes, with bright light, warm temperatures, and good airflow you can grow moringa indoors in containers by recreating tropical conditions. Add fan to help strengthen the stems and also keep the bugs from reproducing on the leaves. Grow moringa in a sunroom or patio near a window. Bring them inside for winter.
Moringa is one of the fastest growing trees in the world and can grow several feet within a few months during the summer. Trim moringa trees back regularly to get a short bushy tree. It will regrow super fast with fresh greens to eat. Harvest your first moringa greens within 30 days from sprouting the seeds. Use moringa as a fast growth fertilizer on other plants.
Moringa like rich sandy-composted soil. It needs to be well-draining with lots of beneficial microbes. Moringa does not like heavy, waterlogged soil or to be planted too deep. It like to be planted high and dry in tropical conditions. It can be planted in more of a hole in the desert region to help with moisture retention and shading. Its draught tolerant but still needs moisture to sprout.
When sprouting the seeds, soak them overnight to soften the shell. Then, plant them in moist soil. Allow the soil to dry slightly between watering. Moringa prefers deep watering with good drainage rather than constant moisture. Allow the top to dry out. If you water too much, mold and bacteria could form on the surface preventing them to sprout. Keep in a warm dark space for germination.
Yes moringa can be sprouted in small trays. Plant 100 seeds in a small tray for microgreens. Then re-plant them in bigger pots. You don't need to use the 'step up' method into larger pots. Skip all the extra work and time by planting 100 moringa seeds in no less than a 3-gallon pot. They grow fast and dislike transplant shock. You'll have several big trees forming to transplant after they have root tubers.
In the first 30 days. Once the moringa seedling has 2 levels of leaves you can 'pop the top' and harvest the head. This small harvest will inspire the tree to split into 2 heads and thicken the stem, keeping it short and bushy.

Moringa Oleifera can reach over 20ft tall, but you can't reach the greens up there. Plus, if you let the tree go without maintenance pruning, the sticks can rot easily, its a soft wood. Instead, make a heading cut, to split the tree low, allowing to have many short branches allowing for more greens. Trim regularly for fresh dark greens.

Moringa can live entirely without any intervention from man. But in this case, we want to benefit from the greens. So, by keeping the tree short and bushy it will consistently produce new fresh greens. Depending on your purpose, trim every few months. There is a method of removing the inward facing branches.
Moringa is a tropical tree, which means most of the United States is technically considered a northern climate for it. The tree has thin bark and cannot survive freezing temperatures, so in many regions it behaves more like an annual crop rather than a permanent tree.
While moringa can produce drumsticks (seed pods) in its first year, those pods may not always contain fully mature seeds. For growers in colder climates who want to make extra income, the best strategy is often selling seeds and small potted trees, since moringa may only live for one growing season outdoors.
In much of the USA, moringa is planted in the spring, grows rapidly through the summer, and can be harvested for leaves every 30 days before dying back in winter—similar to crops like corn or wheat. It can be grown in the ground, in containers, or even indoors as long as warm tropical conditions are recreated, ideally with nighttime temperatures above 70°F.

Growing moringa maybe considered tricky at first, but once you get a feel for the seasons and temperature, you'll find that adhering to the LAWS (Land, Air, Water, Sea) of nature, it will allow you much more success and freedom, without the worry and anxiety because moringa leaves will yellow, often. Harvest the greens, before they turn yellow. The yellow leaves are not desirable to eat or package.

Grab the leaves BEFORE they turn yellow. If your tree is lush with tons of greens, that's when you harvest. When the tree has lots of yellow leaves, then you didn't harvest fast enough. Pull greens from lower branches before they turn yellow.
In a profitable moringa operation, all the moringa trees are kept and maintained short and bushy, because the leaves are accessible. You can let the tree grow full size, over 20ft or trim the branches short for fresh new greens.
Yes, they can live through frost temperatures, the stem may die back, but it could regrow from the root. Having a layer of mulch helps. A cloth covering could help for frosty nights.
'Pop the tops' in the first 30 days above the first leaf. This causes the stem to thicken and it sprouts 2 more heads. This is the method for shorter bushy trees, 'Pop tops' regularly.

Dry the leaves on screen racks. Spread the leaves out as much as possible, one layer thick, on a screen, with fans and air flow. The leaves could rot or get moldy quickly. Make sure to dry the greens quickly after harvesting. The leaves should be crispy to touch within 24hours.
Many methods work to dry the leaves, freeze dryers, dehydrators. But the best method, is the free method. It doesn't take machines or much electricity to dry the leaves effectively. Simply, bring them inside and place them on a screen rack for several days with fans and they'll dry safely.
It can take 5 days to dry the leaves completely. Although, they should be crispy within 24 hours of harvesting. Use a screen rack, or hanging herbal rack to set the leaves out to dry.
